Youth Music and Event Players

The youth music and event players group is a youth program at St. Cuthbert’s that involves helping members plan, organize, and eventually put on a live concert style event, which is also a fundraiser for the church. They meet once a week and the goal of such a project is to assist youth in developing their communication, organization, and leadership skills through music and musical activities.

The Process

The program is divided into 3 separate sections consisting of: Basic Training, Rehearsal, and Management. Basic Training involves singing, dancing and public speaking activities to help develop communication and confidence skills. Rehearsal is about practicing the programs of the event once they have been planned. Management has the youth organize, plan, and execute the various programs of the event, this includes things like hospitality and setting up the event, and even has the group design and print their own tickets for the event.
