Meet The Team
The Reverend
Jeff Ward
Jeff was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Montreal and the GTA. He has traveled a long journey through several denominations which has offered him experience and perspective for the challenges that other people have faced while seeking a deeper spirituality and a nurturing church experience.
He spent 20 years in the technology manufacturing industry and finally answered the call to ordained ministry in 2001. Jeff is married to Sue-Ann who is also an Anglican priest. Together, they have raised four wonderful children.
Jeff has a passion for people. He holds a particular passion for outreach through social justice, compassionate care, and family ministry in his practice of ministry. He is constantly seeking excellence in all aspects of ministry and the inclusion of all people in the church of God.
Rev. Canon Dr. Alan Hayes
Honorary Assistant Priest
Alan Hayes has taught church history at University of Toronto's Wycliffe College since 1975, when he completed his Ph.D. in religious studies at McGill University, Montreal.
Along the way he was ordained to his academic ministry. As part of his formation for this vocation, he served an assistant curacy at St. George’s Anglican Church, Willowdale. After that he was honorary assistant priest at St. James, Humber Bay (now “Christ Church St. James”), which has had many connections with Wycliffe; and for about a dozen years he was honorary assistant priest at St. Simon’s, Oakville and he very recently joined St Cuthbert’s in southeast Oakville, very near his home. "It’s a great blessing to feel thoroughly involved in a Christian community that isn’t an academic one!" He's also an honorary canon of Christ’s Church Cathedral, Hamilton.
He lives with his wife, Reverend Morar Murray-Hayes in Oakville, Ontario. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Daniel Lee
Music Director
Daniel's musical journey started at age 7 with theory, singing, and piano lessons while attending St. Michael's Choir School (a renowned, touring all-boys school providing liturgical music for St Michael's Cathedral Basilica in Toronto). He then attended the University of Toronto, attaining 2 degrees- in Molecular Genetics, and Doctor of Dental Surgery. While at U of T, Daniel was singing in the Trinity College Chapel Choir (Dr Robert Bell), and Hart House Chorus (John Tuttle). From 1988-2019, Daniel was Music Director/Organist at St Leonard's Roman Catholic (Brampton), St James RC (Etobicoke), and Mary, Mother of God RC Oakville). Since 1998, he is also a full-time dentist, performing dentistry in north Oakville, in the Joshua's Creek neighborhood. Dr Lee attained his Fellowship in General Dentistry in 2015. For the past 10 years, he has gone on annual dental missions to Guatemala. Daniel finds balance in both of his passions of Dentistry and Music.
Daniel is married to Kola, and they have three children: Thomas, Theresa, and Cecilia, who are in university/high school, and also very musical!
